Frequently asked questions
• Is the colonic treatment painful?
During the treatment natural bowel movement (peristalsis) will be stimulated.
Sometimes this may result in a slight cramp. This is perfectly natural.
As soon as the colon eliminates toxic waste, you will feel relieved.
• Are the rectal tubes clean?
We work with disposals. The rectal tubes are in a sterile package.
The package is opened in your presence when the treatment starts.
It will be used only once.
• What should I do immediately before a session?
It is advisable to refrain from eating or drinking anything two hours prior your scheduled appointement. This is to avoid feelings of nausea, as well as ensuring maximum comfort during your colon hydrotherapy session.
• Is it necessary to fast before colon hydrotherapy?
There is no need to fast. On the day of treatment you can take a light meal. If you are used to fasting it is best to do a colonic on the third and the last day of your fasting period.

Enemas are good to clean out the sigmoid and rectal areas of the colon, which extend to about 30 cm. A series of colon hydrotherapy treatments can clean out and remove impacted material from the whole colon which is about 1 m long.
Additionally, colon hydrotherapy promotes peristalsis and helps the colon muscles regain tone therefore assisting the return of regular bowel movements.
• Do you need a reference from a general practioner?
Colon hydrotherapy is not a medical treatment.
If you have any doubts please consult your doctor.
Although not all doctors are familiar with this treatment.
• Will colon hydrotherapy be reimbursed by your health insurance?
We are member of the VBAG (Vereniging ter Bevordering van Alternatieve Geneeswijze) and the RBCZ (Register Beroepsbeoefenaren Complementaire Zorg)
If you have additional insurance most insurance companies will reimburse therapists who are member of the VBAG and RBCZ. Colon hydrotherapy is an alternative therapy.
