• Is the colonic treatment painful?
During the treatment natural bowel movement (peristalsis) will be stimulated.
Sometimes this may result in a slight cramp. This is perfectly natural.
As soon as the colon eliminates toxic waste, you will feel relieved.

• Are the rectal tubes clean?
We work with disposals. The rectal tubes are in a sterile package.
The package is opened in your presence when the treatment starts.
It will be used only once.

• What should I do immediately before a session?
It is advisable to refrain from eating or drinking anything two hours prior your scheduled appointement. This is to avoid feelings of nausea, as well as ensuring maximum comfort during your colon hydrotherapy session.

• Is it necessary to fast before colon hydrotherapy?
There is no need to fast. On the day of treatment you can take a light meal. If you are used to fasting it is best to do a colonic on the third and the last day of your fasting period.

• Are there any contra-indications to colon hydrotherapy?
There are a few contra-indications to keep in mind when considering colon hydrotherapy: recent colon and abdominal surgeries, hernias, untreated high blood pressure, disease of Crohn, colitis ulcerosa and during the first three months of pregnancy. We will review your personal health situation prior to any treatment.

• How many sessions are recommended?
We recommend three colonics when you come for the first time. These can be done on a weekly basis.
We offer a bespoke treatment plan best suited to your individual condition and needs.

• Are there side effects after the colon hydrotherapy?
Sometimes you may experience temporary side effects such as headaches, fatigue and flu-like symtoms. At this stage of a detox, cleansing through colon hydrotherapy helps to flush toxins from your system.

• How does Colon hydrotherapy affect the bacteria balance in my body?
Colon hydrotherapy does not flush all bacteria from the body.
Once toxins are removed from the colon, the beneficials bacteria have a cleaner habitat facilitating their reproduction and multiplication, therefore achieving a positive bacterial balance.

• How is Colon hydrotherapy different from enemas?
Enemas are good to clean out the sigmoid and rectal areas of the colon, which extend to about 30 cm. A series of colon hydrotherapy treatments can clean out and remove impacted material from the whole colon which is about 1 m long.
Additionally, colon hydrotherapy promotes peristalsis and helps the colon muscles regain tone therefore assisting the return of regular bowel movements.

• Do you need a reference from a general practioner?
Colon hydrotherapy is not a medical treatment.
If you have any doubts please consult your doctor.
Although not all doctors are familiar with this treatment.

• Will colon hydrotherapy be reimbursed by your health insurance?
Since 2021 the colon hydrotherapy is not reimbursed by health insurances anymore.
